A new two storey house is proposed on vacant land to the rear of a suburban London street. The site has direct access from Lydford Road and long distance views to the east across a train line cutting. 

Owing to the unusual context a unique approach to the design was required to maximise the sites potential. The result is an upside down house which places the three bedrooms at ground level and the living area at first floor level. The raised open plan living area gains long views across the open cut train line with a terrace providing direct outdoor space through glazed bi-fold doors.
