A Grade II listed mill dating back to 1911, the same year RMS Titanic was launched. This fact, coupled with the building's imposing stature as one of the largest woollen mills in the Huddersfield area, meant it became known locally as Titanic Mill. Extensive renovation works are being carried out retaining as many as the existing features as possible, working closely with Kirkless Metropolitan Borough Council.
In response to the climate change challenge, the apartments at Titanic Mill will be CO2 neutral. This will be achieved by a combination of high levels of energy efficiency and the supply of renewable ('green') energy. The combination of Biomass powered combined heat and power boiler will deliver green energy to each apartment, supplemented by 400m2 array of photovoltaic solar panels at roof level.
